Abstract:

The county (city) as the basic research unit, using comprehensive index calculates the economic and social development index of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration regions in 1986 and 2008.By comparing the economic and social development of each unit change in composite index, research the spatial polarization characteristics of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration regions from the 1980s;and using Panel Data Model, quantitative explore the influence factors of spatial polarization in Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration regions. The research indicated:the economic activity of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration regions have obvious economic center pointing and coastal pointing, spatial development mainly remains polarized. The new development poles had appeared, but distribution in the area edge,leading role is not big;The metropolitan area overall scale aggravate inflation,in addition, the core and periphery areas appear polarization and reversed polarization phenomenon;the eastern regions appear the rudiment of network development. The original economic basis, transformation of the industrial structure ability,economic globalization level are the main factors affecting spatial polarization in Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration regions since the reform and opening up.
