Abstract:

The lakeside wetlands, the buffer zones where nonpoint source pollutants discharged into lakes, could provide a natural protection barrier for the lakes.Phosphorus is the main component of the nonpoint source pollution and hard to be removed from water body, and its overloading is a significant reason causing lake eutrophication. The phosphorus concentrations could be largely reduced in the lakeside wetlands. It is significant to reveal the phosphorus removal and retention mechanisms in the lakeside wetlands, for controlling water pollution and protecting lake ecosystems. This study is about the progress and key issues of the phosphorus removal and retention in the lakeside wetlands. The key point for lake eutrophication control is to enhance the phosphorus removal efficiency and promote the ecological function of the lakeside wetlands on the basis of macroand microanalysis
